Stuff happens - and so it did for the ole Nokia 3110 Classic, it played submarine for 5 minutes in a washing tub filled with hot water and washing powder. Surprisingly it made a call to a friend while in the water. Unfortunately it didn't survive the ordeal and was dead after. It did it's job as a GPRS/EDGE modem for the DELL D610 laptop for more than a year. So a good time to take the Nokia 3110 Classic apart and have a look what's inside.

Even after all parts where cleaned from washing powder, the Nokia 3110 Classic didn't come to live.
Most likely the hot washing powder solution changed the resistance of the SMD resistors / capacitors.
