So what's this all about? Traveling or Laptops? Actually it's about traveling with a laptop, a travel tool connected to the Internet. A few examples of every day use:
- Google Earth : An immensely valuable tool for checking out remote regions and travel destinations. In densely populated area's the only way to find out your actual location and how to get out of the city. Although not always up to date, satellite imagery opens up the world anywhere.
- Picture Uploads : By uploading pictures to a server, backups of (sized down) pictures are possible.
- E-mail : Nothing more valuable than to write and check e-mails for visa arrangements, updates and everything that comes with having access to e-mail while travelling.
- Local news : Knowing about local events is crucial for any traveler. Most countries have an English version of the news on the web.
- Chat home : Direct cheap contact through chat applications like Skype, Messengers etc.
Other uses are information about truck parts, laptop issue's and all other sorts of travel gear that break down when used continously.|
